Bang and Olufsen Introduces Plasma with Robotic Arm

Beovision4 TV
Bang and Olufsen, long known for their illustrious line of visual/audio equipment, introduced the Beovision 4 plasma TV today. They’ve laid claim to having the best looking plasma on the market, but ‘how so’ you ask? Included in what is a probably an uber expensive set, is a small camera that emerges from the TV’s inner workings every 100 hours to measure picture quality and adjust accordingly. Engineers and marketers must work in the same department because they’ve inserted a dedicated center channel at the base of the TV insuring that you’ll purchase the matching BeoLab 10 home theater system. Comes in a 50 inch and 65 inch setup.

Fearless 16 Year Old Nabs Mugger Via MySpace

Teen Myspace Purse SnatcherYudelka Polanco, a 16-year old NYC resident was mugged while commuting one day. Included in the snatching was her cell phone. The mugger, the idiot that he is, used the cell phone to make calls and send emails. Prior to receiving a new cell phone, Polanco’s provider sync’d up her new handset with the account. Contained in her history was the mugger’s email address. She quickly searched for the email address on Myspace. There was a match, but the assailant’s profile was set to ‘private’. Polanco, the sleuth that she is, had a friend message the purse snatcher to get on his good side and subsequently his friend’s list. With evidence in hand, the police arrested 16-year old Victor Hernandez.

Navy Seal Bluetooth Style Headset

Roadrunner Bluetooth Headset
Sure to garner some stares for looking like a deuce bag, the Roadrunner handsfree headset looks more military opps than Bluetooth headset. The microphones are strategically placed next to your voicebox, which in turn surpresses ambient noise during conversation and makes the Roadrunner ideal for top down driving or motorcycle use. Better yet, pair it with your gaming system, fire up some COD4 and strap on the FPS Vest for a true immersive military experience. Expect 9 hours of talk time and 7 days of standby.

Available here for $79.

Wiimote Hacked To Open/Close Curtains

This guy ‘paired’ his Wiimote to his PC (via Bluetooth), and slapped together some visual basics code to get it talking to his motorized curtains. Check out the above video to see it in action (riveting) and go to his site for tutorial info. This is gonna sound naive, but I didn’t know the Wii was Bluetooth.

USB WiFi Extender

WiFi Extender
My wireless connection, pending any cable outages, is fine. But sometimes I wouldn’t mind stepping outside with my laptop and soak up some of that LA sun while I work. I’ve read about the tin foil ears you can slap on our router to get a little extra range, but that ain’t my style. Nope, I’d rather setup shop with the Hawking HWU8DD WiFi extender dish. Plugs into your USB and through some magic it can boost your signal by up to 300%.

Available here for $63.
